At Ayla Networks, we’re all about delivering ‘easy buttons’ for creating and delivering enterprise-scale Internet of Things (IoT) solutions. As the IoT market expands and evolves, we keep finding new ways to achieve this big-picture goal.

I’m happy to report that we have a new easy button in the works, this time for cellular IoT — and in conjunction with Qualcomm Technologies, as they lead the world to 5G and envision this next big change in cellular technology spurring a new era of intelligent, connected devices and enabling new opportunities. Ayla Networks and Qualcomm Technologies are working together to provide fast, flexible pathways to the development of cost-effective, low-power IoT devices that have multi-year battery lives and expanded coverage ranges.

The Ayla device agent will be integrated into the Qualcomm LTE IoT software development kit (SDK), which was announced in February by Qualcomm Technologies, Inc., a subsidiary of Qualcomm Incorporated. What this means is that when you choose a cellular module that includes the Qualcomm MDM9206 LTE IoT global multimode modem, it will also support connectivity to the Ayla IoT platform out of the box — with no extra effort on your part.

What’s more, these cellular IoT solutions will offer optimized performance — including power management and data optimization — for narrow-band IoT (NB-IoT) and Cat M1 cellular communications.

If you’re wondering why Qualcomm Technologies wants to partner with Ayla Networks, the answer is simple: We’re the leading platform provider of IoT device connectivity, virtualization, and management. Combining our strengths with Qualcomm Technologie’s strengths means yet another way that IoT solution providers can get to market faster with better-performing products that connect using cellular IoT.
