Dave Friedman, CEO of Ayla, was a guest this week on the influential The Peggy Smedley Show, a weekly radio show that helps listeners understand connected devices—and how to make these devices a part of their everyday lives.
During the program, Peggy told Dave that Ayla’s mission of helping manufacturers to create successfully connected products quickly and securely was “such a great line.”
Dave described how Ayla Networks helped its customer Hunter Fan announce a new HomeKit-enabled smart fan at the recent CES show in Las Vegas. Hunter Fan is a market-leading 130-year fan manufacturer, but they aren’t experts in software, networking or security. Ayla provides the IoT platform so Hunter doesn’t have to worry about the connectivity details and can instead focus on what they’re good at.
Dave also talked about how the importance of data analytics to manufacturers, calling it the “killer app” for the IoT. The data from connected products helps manufacturers provide better warranties, better service and a lower cost of service, he said.
