Ayla Networks, a global leader in Internet of Things (IoT) platform-as-a-service (PaaS), has declared CES 2018 as the show to recognize the IoT’s graduation from rising trend to core business driver for the consumer electronics industry. Through daily IoT educational workshops, evening happy hour panel discussions and networking sessions, and demos of real-world connected solutions in action, Ayla will allow CES 2018 attendees to explore how they might use IoT technologies, and the IoT data generated by connected products, to achieve real business value.
“Connectivity has gone from an end goal to the necessary starting point for business transformation,” said David Friedman, CEO, and co-founder of Ayla Networks. “From our vantage point at the forefront of the IoT revolution, Ayla is seeing enterprises from across the globe—in businesses ranging from manufacturers of smart home appliances and wearable devices to giant retail outlets and telecommunications service providers—recognizing the powerful possibilities of the IoT in their own businesses.”
Ayla has become a global leader in smart home and consumer electronics markets by offering an end-to-end IoT platform that is highly configurable and that enables the rapid launch of connected product that are secure, scalable and future-proofed. Ayla already is the IoT platform provider for many manufacturers that are number one in their markets, including home appliances, residential and commercial HVAC (heating, ventilation, air conditioning) systems, water heaters, water softeners, and home fire and safety products.
During the past year, the company has announced new or expanded relationships with manufacturing customers and partners that include Chigo, Culligan International, Dimplex, Fujitsu General, Galanz, Hampton Brinks, Hisense, Hitachi Appliances Inc., Hunter Fan, Johnson Control, Kidde, King I Electronics, Kryo, LockState, Magtech Industries, Para-Care, Powertech, Owlet, Ozner, Qorvo, SALUS, SideChef, Simple Home, SmartVue Corp., Stelpro, TCL, China Unicom, United Technologies Electronic Controls (UTEC), VIZO Technology, Volansys Technologies, and Xiaowei.
“Ayla is leveraging our strong lead in IoT platform technologies to help guide enterprises through their IoT-fueled business transformation process,” said Mike Merit, vice president of customer success at Ayla. “The benefits of IoT have become clear enough that the big brands are now leaping in, which signals that the IoT is no longer about buzz, it’s about business.”
Ayla Activities at CES 2018
At its booth #42142 at the Sands Expo, Ayla will showcase some of its customers and partners that are part of the global Ayla IoT ecosystem. Ayla representatives will be available to answer questions, and booth visitors can spin the Ayla Prize Wheel for a chance to win Amazon Echo units (limited to two per day); connected products provided by Ayla customers; free passes to the inaugural Ayla Connect customer event, to be held at Ayla’s Santa Clara, Calif., headquarters in May 2018; free IoT consultations with Ayla technical staff; and a range of smaller prizes.
Attendees interested in scheduling personalized one-on-one consultations with Ayla IoT experts at CES 2018 can request an IoT consultation.
Ayla will also have a suite at the Palazzo Hotel, which will be the site for Ayla’s IoT workshops, happy hour panel discussions and networking sessions, and private meetings.
Each day at CES 2018 (January 9 – 11), Ayla experts will conduct educational workshops at 10 am and 2 pm on the following topics:
- Best Practices for IoT Security & Privacy. Designed to bring to light some key considerations for navigating the treacherous waters of IoT data security and data privacy, this workshop will address some of the most common security and privacy concerns associated with connected devices.
- Maximizing IoT Business Value. While the IoT might appear as a shiny new opportunity full of promise and possibilities, the reality is that it will take time for IoT investments to translate into tangible benefits. Learn where the best chance for IoT return on investment (ROI) lies and how to achieve it.
- The Importance of Interoperability in IoT. With so many players racing to capture the data-driven value of the IoT, the big question is how all the various devices, services and technologies will work together and interact to create the value.
The IoT workshops are free, but registration is required.
Happy Hour Panel Discussions and Networking Sessions
At 5:30 pm each day of CES 2018, attendees are invited to join Ayla and members of its IoT ecosystem for a happy hour panel discussion and networking opportunity. Panel discussion topics will be:
- Internet of Things Success Stories with Amazon Alexa (Tuesday, Jan. 9)
- Executive Fireside Chat – Why IoT? (Wednesday, Jan. 10)
- The Journey to Success in the Internet of Things (Thursday, Jan. 11)
Panel discussions will be moderated by Ayla executives and will include representatives of Ayla’s partner and customer companies. The happy hour sessions are free, but registration is required.
