Simplifies and Speeds the Development of Matter-compliant Products
Ayla Networks, whose Internet of Things (IoT) platform rapidly transforms any device into a smart, connected product, today announced that global semiconductor company Espressif Systems will be an SoC partner for Ayla’s software on its Matter-compliant smart home chipsets and modules. This partnership will help to speed up and simplify the development of smart home devices compatible with the new Matter connectivity standard.
Matter is a unifying, IP-based connectivity protocol designed to make interoperable devices from multiple brands that work together seamlessly in a single secure eco-system. Matter works with devices that support Wi-Fi and Thread/802.15.4 for communication and BLE for provisioning. By providing Matter-compliant software and hardware in a single package, Ayla and Espressif are helping product developers build smart home devices even more quickly and easily.
“Ayla Network, with their complete solutions, has been successfully enabling customers to build feature-rich connected devices with ease using Espressif’s SoCs and modules,” said Amey Inamdar, director of technical marketing at Espressif Systems. “The Matter standard promises to make the smart home experience more neutral and intuitive for consumers and to help manufacturers build and scale smart home devices much faster, with no encumbrances, by enabling device-to-device communication. We are happy to continue our partnership as an SoC partner for Ayla Network’s Matter-compliant software that will realize this goal.”
“Working with Espressif on Matter-compliant hardware is one more way that Ayla is adding value for our IoT platform customers, and by extension, to their end-users,” said Jonathan Cobb, CEO of Ayla Networks. “By working with Espressif to provide a one-stop shop for Matter compatibility, for both software and hardware, we are helping to make it easy, fast, and affordable for device manufacturers to get competitively differentiated smart home products into consumers’ hands.”
